Description

The SP7-1 Intelligent Positioner from Spirax Sarco is a high-performance device for precise control of valves driven by NAMUR-compliant pneumatic actuators. It ensures a highly accurate proportional relationship between valve travel and the value of the input electrical signal (mA), and is suitable for use with straight or angle stroke pneumatic actuators.

Designed with a die-cast aluminum housing, this positioner offers excellent weather resistance and is suitable for outdoor installation. It supports an angular travel range of -57° to 57° and a straight travel range of -28° to 28°. Users can choose whether to have a mounting kit or a gauge kit, depending on requirements, and specify the type when ordering. The unit accepts a 4-20 mA signal as a control input, has a gas supply pressure range of 1.4 to 6 bar, and supports a reaction control mode.

Communication and Extended Functionality

The SP7-1 positioner is equipped with a local communication interface (LCI) and supports "HART® communication" (optional HART®5 or HART®7 protocol). In addition, the following expansion module options are available:

• SP7-11: Integrated Profibus PA module;
• SP7-22: Supports Foundation fieldbus modules.

In addition to the analog position setpoint inputs, the devices also feature digital inputs for activating control system functions and digital outputs for transmitting alarm or fault messages.
