Description
The Spirax Sarco SP500 Intelligent Valve Positioner is a loop-powered device capable of driving both linear and 90° rotary pneumatic valves. a 4-20mA input signal determines the valve's set-point, and precise control is achieved through valve position feedback, which automatically varies the air output pressure to overcome stem friction and the force of the fluid, and to maintain the desired valve position. The valve position is digitally displayed by a continuous travel %, the valve position feedback is obtained by non-contact technology based on the Hall effect, the pneumatic is based on piezoelectric valve technology, therefore, high resolution, high reliability, vibration resistance and very low air consumption in steady state can be guaranteed.

The SP500 includes a number of intelligent features that can be used to drive software programming with keystrokes and an LCD display of alphanumeric data setup menus. Valve commissioning is very simple, just through the automatic commissioning program, LCD display program status, software travel switch status, mA input signal and valve diagnostic data. Furthermore, there is no mechanical connection between the valve and the positioner, greatly simplifying the installation procedure and reducing the time required.The SP500 is supplied with NAMUR standard mounting kits for yoke or column mounted actuators. For 90° rotary valves, a VDI/VDE 3845 compliant mounting kit is available.The SP500 intelligent positioner supports extended options including HART® communication protocols, enabling complete system configuration via a PC or handheld device.
