Spirax Sarco Single and Double Window Viewing Mirrors

Description

Spirax Sarco's single and double window sight glasses are threaded and available in bronze and brass depending on the diameter. Widely used in steam and other industrial liquid systems, they are installed downstream of steam traps to check for proper trap operation, and when multiple traps are discharged into a closed condensate recovery system, to check the operation of each trap. In addition, it can reflect other aspects of the steam system, such as the presence of free oxygen and carbon dioxide in the steam, and the presence of organic deposits in the boiler feedwater, as determined by the presence of solid deposits on the glass of the sight glass. The double-window type is a "see-through" type, which is standard in large-diameter products, and can be backlit for easy observation of flow conditions.

Security information, installation and maintenance

Refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide (IM-S32-04) supplied with the product for detailed information.

• WARNING: Condensate from certain applications can have a dissolving effect on the sight glass, especially if the water contains corrosive alkaline and acidic substances. Therefore, it is recommended that the sight glass be inspected periodically and replaced immediately if it becomes thin. When viewing, take care to wear safety goggles to protect your eyes.
• Installation and Maintenance: Shut-off valves should be installed before and after the sight glass, and the upstream shut-off valve should be closed first to prevent pressure overload. When installed behind a spray-type trap (such as a thermodynamic trap), the distance should be at least 1 meter. This ensures that the sight glass is protected from thermal and pressure shocks. Measures should be taken to ensure that in the event of a sight glass failure, the broken glass will not cause injury to personnel and equipment. Ensure that there is adequate access space.
• Disposal: This product can be recycled and does not cause environmental problems when disposed of properly.
