Spirax Sarco LC2650 Level Controller

Description

The Spirax Sarco LC2650 Level Controller for electrically conductive fluids provides level switching or regulating control of boilers, tanks and vessels, with an operating limit of 32 bar @ 239°C and two alarm channels with separate high or low alarm settings. The minimum conductivity applicable to the controller is 5us/cm or 5ppm (using LP20 and PA20).

The front panel is equipped with an LCD display and five buttons.The LCD display shows operational information in run mode and also shows the level fluctuation trend over a set time period. In run mode, frequently used data is displayed in several consecutive screens. The test menu has a diagnostic function to measure inputs and also to set outputs from the front panel. All commissioning parameters are password protected to prevent unwanted or incorrect settings.

The product can communicate with neighboring products via infrared bus, can be designated as master or slave, and is available in panel, DIN rail, or base plate mounting.

The LC2650 complies with the EMC Directive 2017/30/EU and its requirements and is suitable for use in heavy industrial environments with a detailed EMC assessment, reference number UK Supply BH LC2650 2008.
Complies with the Low Voltage Directive and meets the safety requirements of the standard EN 61010-1:2001 for electrical equipment used in measurement, control and laboratories.
Type-tested as level controllers in accordance with standards Vd TÜV Water Control Devices 100 (07:2006), UL Listed (open).

On/Off operation: Pump on/off control, 2 alarm outputs, 4 - 20mA level output (isolated), solenoid valve on/off control is also available instead of pump.
Regulatory control: Control valve control is by valve motor drive or 4 - 20mA control signal, 2 alarm outputs, 4 - 20mA level output (isolated).

input function

The LC2650 compares the input signal with the user's set point and changes the output signal to control the water level in the boiler or tank.

The product control signals can be connected to pumps or regulating valves, and also provides relay outputs for high and low alarms, isolated 0 - 20mA or 4 - 20mA re-outputs, and parameters can be transmitted via RS485/MODBUS communication.

Other features

Additional filters are used to increase the damping effect in fluctuating conditions.

WARNING: This document does not contain sufficient information to safely install the product. The product operates at hazardous voltages, refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide supplied with the product before installing the product.
Note: Ensure that there is no condensation inside the product before installing and connecting the power cord. The product can be DIN rail, base plate board or panel mounted and is supplied with an instrument bezel. The product must be mounted in a suitable industrial control panel or fire rated enclosure to provide crash and environmental protection, a minimum of IP54 (EN 60529 standard) or Types 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 6P & 13 (UL50/NEMA 250) is required, Spirax Sarco offers suitable plastic and metal boxes.

Do not install outdoors without additional weather protection.
Do not attempt to open the product - it is sealed and has no replaceable parts or internal switches.
Do not block infrared rays between products.
In the UK, the IEE specification (BS 7671) is to be followed, and in other regions, the appropriate protocols are to be followed. All wiring materials and processes must comply with the appropriate EN and IEC standards.
No special service, preventive maintenance or product inspection is required. Boiler water level controls and alarms need to be tested and checked and general guidance is given in Health and Safety Directives BG01 and INDG436.
