Description
Spirax Sarco EL2270 and EL2271 temperature sensors, the EL2270 is a PT100 platinum resistance temperature sensor for general industrial applications, a 3-wire RTD to EN60751: Class A (Level A), which can be connected to temperature indicators or controllers with 3-wire PT100 inputs, and for specific applications, the EL2271 is a combination PT100 sensor and transmitter with a 3-wire sensing element. The EL2271 is a PT100 sensor and transmitter combination with a 3-wire sensing element to EN60751: Class A (Level A) and a 4-20mA output to ATEX 1G EExia IIC/IIB T4/T5/T6 for temperatures up to -50°C. It is also available with a 4-20mA output to ATEX 1G EExia IIC/IIB T4/T5/T6 for temperatures up to -50°C. It can be connected to a temperature indicator or controller with a 3-wire PT100 input for application-specific use. T4/T6, field calibratable from -50°C to 500°C, 4-20mA output can be connected to devices with corresponding inputs, 3-point calibration series transmitters are also available.

protective cover
Three types of protective covers are available:
- Thin wall protective sleeve, ½" NPT threaded connection;
- Protective sleeve for tapered holes, ½" NPT threaded connection;
- Hygienic protective sleeve to 3A hygienic standard, 1½" hygienic clamp connection (ASME BPE), electrolytically polished to 0.4μm (proof available on request). The smaller EL2270 is unprotected, the protective sleeve is made of 316 stainless steel and is available up to 500°C. It should be selected according to the inductor insertion length 'D', the protective sleeve size 'F' is shorter than the inductor size 'D', 225mm. "The protective sleeve size 'F' is shorter than the inductor size 'D'. The protective sleeve for the 225mm and 725mm inductors is only intended for use in non-mobile locations.

Pressure/Temperature Limits
Temperature sensors can be used in applications where process temperatures are within a certain range, and additional protection is required for high temperatures and pressures. For air and vapor applications, the fluid flow rate should be less than 45m/s; for liquid applications, a flow rate of 5m/s is recommended (700mm and 200mm for non-flow applications only). Before and after the addition of the protective sleeve, the product has different pressure and temperature limit ranges and there are areas where it cannot be used.
