Description
Spirax Sarco DCV3 and DCV3LT disc check valves are disc type flange-to-flange mounted check valves for a wide range of applications such as process piping, hot water systems, steam and condensate systems. The connection dimensions are in accordance with EN 558 part 1, series 49. The standard product is a metal seat for steam systems. For oil, air, gas and water systems, other materials are available.

Size and Caliber Links
Bore sizes are DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80 and DN100, which can be installed in BS 10 Tables 'E' and 'H', EN 1092 PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25 and PN40; JIS 5, JIS 10, JIS 16, JIS 20 flanges, but DN40, DN50, DN80 and DN100 cannot be installed between JIS 5 flanges and DN65 and DN80 cannot be installed between BS 10 'E' flanges.

The valve body, discs, spring positioners, standard springs, heavy-duty springs, high-temperature springs and other components are mainly made of austenitic stainless steel, and the heavy-duty springs are made of the nickel alloy Nimonic 90.
Scope of work and limitations
- DCV3LT can be used down to -60°C and DCV3 down to -10°C.
- DCV3 configured with high temperature springs or DCV3/DCV3LT without springs can be used in specific areas.
- The operating range of products with different seat materials (Viton and EPDM seats) is limited by the seat material.
- Parameters related to the design level of the valve body (PMA maximum permissible pressure, TMA maximum permissible temperature, etc.), different types of springs correspond to different working pressures and temperatures.
- Designed for a maximum cold hydrostatic test pressure of 60 bar g.

Opening pressure (mbar)
The opening pressure of standard and high temperature springs in the absence of flow is different for different sizes. When lower opening pressures are required, check valves without springs can be used, ensuring that the pipeline is vertical and the flow direction is from bottom to top, with a heavy-duty spring opening pressure of 700 mbar.

For example, order a Spirax Sarco DN50 DCV3 check valve, stainless steel, to be installed between EN1092 PN25 flanges.
Installation and maintenance
Refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide (IM-P134-08) supplied with the product for details.DCV check valves should be installed as indicated by the flow direction arrows on the body.Check valves with springs can be installed in any direction.Check valves without springs need to be installed on vertical piping in the direction of flow from the bottom to the top. The cam design of the valve body allows it to fit different mounting flanges. Flanges, bolts and nuts are supplied by the installer. Disc check valves are not available with spare parts and cannot be used in severe pulsation.

Fluorinated rubber parts products used near 315°C or higher may decompose and form hydrofluoric acid, which should be avoided by skin contact and inhalation. Fluorinated rubber should be disposed of in the manner recommended by the Installation and Maintenance Guide, and will not cause environmental hazards if disposed of properly.
