Description
Spirax Sarco DCV1 disc check valves are designed to be mounted between flanges for a wide range of fluids in process piping, hot water systems, steam and condensate systems, with flange spacing in accordance with EN558 Part1, Series 49. standard products are metal-seated for use in steam systems. Seats of other materials are available when used for oil, air, gas and water systems. Note: The butt check valves are not suitable for applications with severe pulsation, such as compressor outlets.
Sizes and pipe connections
- Caliber: DN15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100
- Mountable Flanges: DCV1 can be mounted between BS10 'E' gauge and 'H' gauge flanges; EN1092 PN6, 10, 16, 25, 40 flanges; JIS 5, 10, 16 and 20 flanges, but DN40, 50, 80 and 100 cannot be fitted between JIS 5 flanges and DN65 and DN80 cannot be fitted between BS10 'E' flanges.
Other options
- Heavy duty springs for boiler feedwater applications (700mbar opening pressure, up to DN65).
- Fluorinated rubber soft seats for oil, gas, and air applications.
- EPDM soft seat for water system applications.

Certificates and Standards
- This product is supplied with a "test report", if you need a certificate, please specify when ordering.
- This product complies with the European Pressure Equipment Report 97/23/EC.
- Sealing standards: standard valves to DIN 3230 part 3, BN2; available on request to DIN 3230 part 3, B03; valves with soft seats to DIN 3230 part 3 BN1 and B01 if differential pressure exists.
Working Principle
Disc check valves are opened by fluid pressure and closed by spring force when there is no flow and before the fluid reverses flow.

Security information, installation and maintenance
Refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide (IM-P134-07) supplied with the product for details.DCV check valves should be installed as indicated by the flow direction arrow on the valve body. Valves with springs can be installed in any direction. When installing valves without springs on vertical piping, be sure to note that the flow direction is from the bottom up. The "cam" design of the valve body allows it to fit a variety of mounting flanges. Rotate the valve body into contact with the flange attachment bolts to ensure that the valve is centered in the piping. The installer supplies the flanges, bolts, nuts and washers. Disc check valves are non-repairable (no spare parts available).
Note: The DCV1 check valve should not be used in situations where there is severe pulsation, such as near a compressor.

take care of
If products with fluorinated rubber components are used at temperatures approaching 315°C or even higher, the fluorinated rubber may decompose and form hydrofluoric acid, which should be avoided by avoiding skin contact and inhalation of the acid, as this can cause skin burns and damage to the respiratory system. Fluorinated rubber should be disposed of as recommended in the Installation and Maintenance Guide (IM-P134-07), and disposed of properly so as not to cause environmental hazards.
