Description
The Spirax Sarco M70i ISO Stainless Steel Clean Ball Valve (for hygienic clean systems) is a three-stage ball valve, forged in 316L stainless steel and conforms to ISO installation standards. Designed to meet ASME BPE standards, it is used in steam and other high purity systems, as well as in aseptic processes where bacteria and media residues can affect product quality. The valve is intended for use as a shut-off valve and cannot be used for modulating control. Its low-maintenance and clean-type design is suitable for steam, liquid and gas systems, operating from vacuum to high temperature and high pressure systems for use in the pharmaceutical, bioprocess, food, beverage and cosmetic industries.
Main features
- Complete all-pass design, the connection port ID and ball ID are identical for good discharge performance.
- Forged material, made of high quality forged stainless steel ASTM A182 F316L.
- Low ferrite content, valve body and connection ports contain only 3%-5% of ferrite to prevent oxidation.
- Designed for automatic welding, the ASME BPE standard meets the requirements for automatic welding, which can be performed without disassembling the valve, utilizing the outwardly extending pipe end.
- Automated design with ISO 5211 standard mounting base for easy automated installation.
- Lockable handle, spring loaded locking handle, allows the valve to be locked in a selected position for system safety.
surface treatment
Standard valves have internal surfaces planed to 0.5 micron Ra (20 micro inches). Optional inner surface electroplaned to 0.375 micron Ra (15 micro inches) option available. Outer surfaces are forged/machined natural surfaces.

M70i packaging is processed and packaged in a clean environment, according to ASME BPE standards each valve end port is sealed with a cap, and the entire valve is sealed in a plastic bag to avoid the entry of dust.
Sizes and pipe connections
½", ¾", 1", 1½", 2" sanitary clamps (ASME BPE).
½", ¾",1",1½",2" Extended O/D Butt Weld Tube End (ETO) (ASME BPE). Sanitary clamp/ETO combination.
Specialty 2½", 3" and 4" forged ball valves are available.
