Description
Spirax Sarco TD16 and TD16F Thermodynamic Steam Traps. The TD16 is used for low discharge steam mains and heat tracing lines, and is suitable for other applications where the pressure, temperature and discharge are within its limits, up to a maximum working pressure of 16 bar g. The TD16 is designed for use in steam traps with low discharge steam mains and heat tracing lines, and is suitable for other applications where the pressure, temperature and discharge are within its limits.

selectable
- heat-resistant cover: The heat shield prevents the trap from operating too frequently due to excessive heat loss in low temperatures and weather conditions.
- Integral Drain Valve: See TI - P153 - 01 for details, 1/4" BSP threaded holes can be drilled in the filter cover to install a drain valve.
mounting
Preferably mounted horizontally, other positions are also possible.
Ordering Instructions
Example: 1 - Spirax Sarco TD16 thermodynamic steam trap with 1/2" BSP threaded connection.
Order spare parts
Please order spare parts as described in the spare parts table, indicating the trap model and size. Example: Strainer and gasket for 1/2" TD16 thermodynamic steam trap.
safeguard
- Before performing any maintenance, make sure that the stop valves before and after the trap are closed, that there is no pressure in the piping, and that the trap has cooled to room temperature.
- Disc and seat maintenance: If a heat shield is installed, remove the heat shield first, then loosen the bonnet with a standard wrench, being careful not to use an adjustable wrench or pipe wrench, as the bonnet may be damaged. If the disc and seat surfaces are slightly worn, use abrasive paste and grind the disc and seat separately with a figure-of-eight grinding motion. If the wear is so great that it cannot be repaired by grinding, the valve seat surface will need to be machined and polished and the disc replaced with a new one. The thickness of the grinding should not exceed 0.25 mm. When reassembling, the disc is positioned so that the grooved surface is in contact with the seat surface, the bonnet is screwed on tightly without the use of gaskets, but it should be coated with suitable anti-temperature grease.
- Clean or replace filters: Loosen the filter cover with a wrench, remove the strainer and clean it, replace with a new one if damaged. To reassemble, insert the strainer into the cap and screw in the bonnet. Apply a small amount of molybdenum disulfide lubricant to the front section of the threads and take care to ensure that the gasket surfaces are clean. Finally, tighten the strainer cap to the recommended torque.
